For the S/S 2011 season A PEACE TREATY brings you THAR - a collection of tribal hand-carved and gold- plated brass jewelry crafted by desert artisan families using centuries-old sustainable techniques and recycled materials including discarded camel bone.

Inspired by the eastern jaunts of disco icons from the 1970’s, THAR evokes an imagined journey alongside the Thar desert’s gypsy tribes and their camels. With THAR, A PEACE TREATY continues to herald ancient disappearing traditions in metal-smithing and adornment featuring antique finishings, carvings and engravings, bezeled bone pieces, talismans, heirloom earrings, protective rings and amulets with hidden openings.
